What Does The Bible Say About Herbs?

El Shaddai (God Almighty) has given us herbs to cure and cleanse our bodies. Let us not ignore what God
has given us…….

The Bible speaks often of herbs and their benefits to mankind. This is a brief study of what God has said in
His Word, the Bible:

GENESIS 1:29-
FOOD FOR HIS PEOPLE- "And God said, See, I have given you every herb that yields
seed which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, whose fruit yields seed; to you it shall be for
food. GENESIS 3:18- Thorns also and thistles it shall bring forth for you, And you shall eat the herb of the
field." GENESIS 9:3-"Every moving thing that lives shall be for food for you. I have given you all things,
even as the green herbs."

EZEKIEL 47:12-
MEDICINE FOR HIS PEOPLE- "Along the bank of the river, on this side and that, will
grow all kinds of trees used for food; their leaves will not wither, and their fruit will not fail. They will bear
fruit every month, because their water flows from the sanctuary. Their fruit will be for food, and their
leaves for MEDICINE." REVELATION 22:2- "In the middle of its street, and on either side of the river,
was the tree of life, which bore twelve fruits, each tree yielding its fruit every month. The leaves of the tree
were for the HEALING OF THE NATIONS."

ROMANS 14:2-
STRENGTH FOR HIS PEOPLE- "For one believeth that he may eat all things; another,
who is weak, eateth herbs."

DANIEL 1:9-16- "But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the
king's meat, nor with the wine which he drank; therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuchs that he
might not defile himself…..v12 Prove thy servants, I beseech thee, ten days; and let them give us pulse
(vegetables) to eat, and water to drink….v15 And at the end of ten days their countenances appeared fairer
and fatter in flesh than all the children which did eat the portion of the king's meat."

PROVERBS 18:21-"DEATH and LIFE are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its
fruit."  Often this scripture is quoted in conjunction with "positive thinking," or speaking the blessings of
God upon our lives and others. But have you ever really considered what is being said here? The tongue has
the power to not only speak good and evil, but it also has the power to receive or reject what you put into
your mouth to eat. Your body no doubt, will reap the harvest of your bad eating habits. If you are
constantly filling it with junk, what else do you expect to receive as an end result? Of course; Obesity, High
Blood Pressure, Diabetes, Yeast infections, Migraine headaches, Heart diseases, etc. On the other hand, if
you receive the right nourishment into your body, it shall reap the harvest of good health (3 John 2);
physical strength, energy, vitality, vigor, decrease in doctor visits and decrease in prescription or over the
counter drugs that causes many unwanted side effects. All in all good health will make you feel good about
yourself.
